The Digital Rum SMS Messaging Platform (DR-SMP) is a software enabler for achieving internationalconnectivity coverage and sending of SMS/MMS, assisting in sending messages:

• From the end user (Mobile Originating – MO), and
• To the end user (Mobile Terminating – MT).

Platform’s main characteristic is the support of broad variety of countries and mobile operators. Thus, it provides the unique advantage that eventhough it covers a large area, supporting a variety of countries and mobile operators, the platform’s inter-connectivity is attainable through a unique and simple Application Programming Interface (API).

Every client is capable of installing the platform and using the API in order to connect and exchange messages (i.e. to receive MO and send MT) across the world.
The platform, also acts as an aggregator.

• It incorporates all the necessary adaptors to function properly with operator- and country-specific APIs and protocols.
• It automatically connects to a host of countries and mobile operators according to a specific mode of operations that each one demands.
• It routes the messages automatically to and from country/operator  via shortcode and long code.

The platform hides the complexity from the end user, who only has to install the Application Programming Interface (API) once. Overall, the platform comprises a solution that allows end–to-end global connectivity and SMS services execution.
